Character creation
- Races: Races found in the Mortal Races page are permitted by default. Please consult me on other races.
- Classes: The twelve classes in the basic rules are permitted by default. Please consult me on other classes.
- Stats: Stats are determined via point buy. Racial bonuses can be reallocated to any stat.
Character expectations
- Alignment: Characters should (ideally) not be evil-aligned.
- Reflavouring: Class abilities and weapons can be reflavoured into other things (within reason) - e.g reflavouring a bow into a gun, or a paladin’s lay on hands as a non-magical injection.
- Builds: You are welcome to min-max, provided it does not detract from the experiences of other players.
- Backstories: Backstories should be fairly brief and somewhat down-to-earth. Your character’s past will definitely influence the campaign where relevant.
- Character party fit: Your character should do their best to, at the very least, get along with other party members. This is not to say that characters all need to agree, but they should be willing to discuss and compromise.
- Behaviour: Characters should not seek to intentionally derail the campaign / negatively affect other player characters.
- PVP: Attacking another player’s character is forbidden, unless both players consent out of character.
Progression
- Experience: EXP will be granted via milestone levelling, and will reflect the progression of the story. Level ups will occur at the end of the session.
- Narrative: There will be an overarching story that begins at level 1-3 and ends at level 16+. Exploration and travel is encouraged, but ignoring the main plot will have consequences.
Universe
- Competition: Expect competition from other adventurers. Not all adventurers you meet will be the default, good-aligned monster slayer, and many contracts are open to all parties.
- Politics and factions: Factions will react to the actions of your party, and your party will need to adapt to changes in the world. Some may request you join them, while others will work against you.
- Character death: In the event a player character dies and is unlikely to be resurrected, that player should create a new character. If they may be resurrected, that player can create a temporary character until the resurrection occurs.
